A new experience: being on a jury that never meets. I’ve been judging the IVCA Clarions from the comfort of my own home.
I liked the convenience of being able to watch the programmes online when I wanted to, but on a broader level, I found it a rather isolating experience (not having any to and fro of opinions with fellow judges) and feel that a better result would have been achieved if it had been done in the conventional offline way. In the past I’ve found that discussion about programmes has changed people’s view of them, in a constructive way. With the online system you stick with your original opinion as you have no sounding board.
